Have a Craving for Sports?
Who doesn’t love sports? The thrill of competition is often enough for people to be entertained. Since humans are competitive by nature, sports are the perfect form of recreation. Even when you’re not a participant, sports can be exhilarating. Nowadays, you can turn on your television and enjoy reality shows which boast a sports theme.
Top Shot
Some people may not consider shooting a sport, but since it’s an Olympic sport, it qualifies. The new show Top Shot focuses on expert marksmen (and women) from around the country. They compete in a wide range of events to stake their claim as the country’s top shot. The competitors are assigned to one of two teams which compete against one another. The losing team must send someone home, which decreases that team’s advantage in the next challenge. Eventually, one winner will become top shot.
Two-a-Days
MTV’s Two-a-Days focused on the lives of high school athletes at Hoover High in Hoover, Alabama. The school’s football team, known as the Buccaneers, is a well-regarded team. As such, they have a demanding training schedule. The player’s struggle to balance their lives, academics, and team responsibilities was depicted in this reality show. The program did brew up some controversy because of the way the coach and chaplain talked to the students.
Season of the Tiger
Season of the Tiger follows football players and marching band members of Grambling State University. This BET show centers around the lives of two footballers and three band members as they struggle to fulfill their destinies at a historically black university.
Next Level: Vince Young
Another BET program, Next Level: Vince Young centers around two-time Rose Bowl MVP and rookie NFL player Vince Young. The show depicts Young’s transition to the Tennessee Titan’s team. It also focuses on he handles balancing his success with his family life.
You don’t have to buy tickets to the next big game to enjoy some thrilling sports competition. You can turn on your TV and enjoy a wide range of sports programming. Cheer for your favorite team or learn more about successful athletes by watching these new sports reality shows.
